Titel: Garten neu gestalten – wie kombiniert ihr Sichtschutz, Boden & Pflanzen sinnvoll?

Hello everyone,

I'm currently redesigning my garden and terrace, and to be honest, I'm finding it's more complex than I thought

My main goal is to create a mix of:

• Privacy
  
  
• cozy atmosphere
  
  
• and easy-care materials
  

to create something without it looking "lumped together" in the end.

Topic 1: Privacy in the garden
I don't live completely detached, so privacy is a big issue for me.
I think wood looks great, but many people say it requires a lot of maintenance over time.

Therefore, I'm currently considering whether WPC is the better solution.
It's supposed to be more robust and you don't have to constantly paint it.

The material sounds really sensible, but I'm wondering:
Will it end up looking too "artificial" or is there hardly any difference compared to wood?

Topic 2: Flooring / Terrace
What I'm currently finding difficult is the flooring.
I have simple tiles that are functional, but don't really create a cozy atmosphere.

I've often seen people using these click-together wooden tiles to enhance the area.
I think they look really nice, especially because they create a warmer atmosphere.

What interests me:

• How durable are they really outdoors?
  
  
• Do they become slippery or uneven quickly?
  

Topic 3: Seating area & comfort
What I'm really missing right now is a proper "chill-out area".
Not just a table and chairs, but something where you can really relax.

These classic wooden deck chairs (Adirondack style) are becoming increasingly common.
I think they look really nice, but I've never actually sat in one.

Are they actually comfortable or more like decoration?

Topic 4: Plants & Structure
I would also like to bring in some more greenery, but not just by putting plants somewhere.

I'm considering using a raised garden bed because:

• it looks more structured
  
  
• one can work better
  
  
• and it doesn't seem so "chaotic".
  

I find these modern metal versions particularly interesting because they don't look so rustic.

My current problem
I have the feeling that many gardens are either:

• too “clean” (almost sterile)
  
  
• or are too crowded
  

I'm looking for a middle ground:
modern, but still cozy

I'd really like to know:

• Are there things you would do differently in retrospect ?
